As a clinic, our part of our commitment:
we will work to serve you, your families, by being there – when you need us to provide acupuncture to relieve your pain and suffering.
As our community, your part of your commitment: you will come for acupuncture, pay for your treatments and participate in supporting our clinic in many ways such as word-of-mouth.
We are fully insured and registered and provide receipts for sessions.
We are a small business, not a non-profit organization. We do not receive any government funding to operate of our business. Allowing patients to pay within a $20-40 sliding scale ensures that our expenses are covered and provides a sustainable livelihood for our practitioners.

Heart & Hands supports big hearts and open minds.
Community Acupuncture, Holistic Nutrition and yoga are effective ways to manage and relieve chronic conditions. They are also a great complement to conventional medicine, BUT it is not a substitute for it. We do not provide primary care medicine and we are not qualified to diagnose or treat serious conditions. If you think you have a problem that is not “garden variety” (ie. serious infection, a malignant growth, or an injury that won’t heal), you need to see a primary care physician (ND, MD, or DO). We can provide some excellent, affordable referrals.
Part of our success is that our patients learn the “routine” and take on the responsibility for booking their own appointments. We will remind and encourage you to drop in for treatments on a regular basis until your condition is resolved.
At Heart & Hands, we encourage you to pay the amount that will allow you to come in for the necessary course of treatment. Heart & Hands does NOT require income verification. Payment happens BEFORE each treatment, we accept CASH, CHEQUE & DEBIT (sorry, no credit card).
Please allow at least 24 hours notice to cancel your appointment. Be respectful for the time you book and allow adequate time for someone to rebook into your canceled time-slot. Missed appointments and late cancelations will be charged $20.
A community setting requires some flexibility from you. If you’ve ever visited our clinic, it is a busy, but peaceful hub of activity. We ask that you watch your volume and respect the company of others that may be sharing our communal waiting area. And we ask for your patience, our practitioners do their best to stay on schedule and will try to accommodate for your needs.
The soothing atmosphere in our space exists because it is created by everyone relaxing together. This kind of collective stillness is a rare and precious thing in our rushed and busy society. Maintaining the peace requires that everyone respects the quiet in the clinic space. Wear comfortable clothing or a change of clothing so that it can be easily rolled up and that it doesn’t restrict movement. Please take off your shoes in the waiting area and of course, turn off your cell phone!
Holistic therapies are a PROCESS and their effects are cumulative. We perform our respective therapies and not miracles, so it is seldom that you can resolve a problem completely with one treatment. Most patients require a course of treatment, in order to get what they want from your therapy. If you have questions about a treatment plan to reach your goals, please ask us.
- Please watch your volume and turn off your cellphone when entering the clinic, we are a QUIET space.
- Arrive comfortably dressed, so your practitioner work efficiently without your clothing restricting movement and that we can access to your arms and legs.
- Remove your shoes in the reception area. As the space is shared by a variety of treatments and classes, a clean floor is appreciated!
- We ask that you refrain from wearing fragrances in the clinic. Many patients, including those undergoing chemotherapy and pregnant women are especially sensitive to chemicals and scents.
- Try to have something to eat about an hour before your treatment. Also try to set aside some time to rest and your body to settle after a treatment.
The main reason that we are able to keep our prices so low is because of the extraordinary amount of marketing the Heart & Hands Collective and our patients do on our behalf — If you enjoyed your experience, please spread the word!
